 Our History
We began as Coastal Carpets in a little shop producing a one size mat with nautical designs to be sold at local boat shows. Customers began to ask us if we could produce mats with their boat’s name on them. Once we started to make these with standard lettering the boat owners now wanted to have the name on the mat exactly at it appeared on their boat. We developed a technique to meet their requests and our “one-size-fits-all” product became very popular.
Eventually people with larger boats wanted larger sizes and graphics to go along with their boat’s name. The super size mat was born. A request for a custom size came along from a yacht owner who needed an area carpet 54” x 41” to fit in her master suite. She wanted us to create a unique gift for her husband. We made it, they loved it and we became Coastal Custom Carpets.
